Biography
I am a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences specialized in seismic hazard. Particularly, my research topics focus on the seismic source parameter characterization for the hazard assessment, both in terms of field paleoseismic analysis of active faults, mainly in the Eastern Betics (SE Spain), and numerical modelling, recently including the development of new computational tools for fault activity characterization. My scientific skills have been acquired during my predoctoral period at Universitat de Barcelona (UB) supported by an FPI grant, and during my ongoing postdoctoral period at Università G. d’Annunzio in Italy (Ud’A) in which I received two competitive postdoctoral positions; first an INGEO Department grant from the Ud’A and second a “Margarita Salas” grant from the UB. The outcomes of my research are reflected in 5 scientific articles published in peer reviewed journals (two of which are in the Q1 of their category with a high impact factor), and more than 38 contributions at international conferences and workshops. I have also been a reviewer for three articles in SCI journals (Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering, Environmental Earth Sciences and Geologica Acta). On my I+D project involvement I have participated in 5 public-funded research projects (4 ongoing) composed by international working teams, allowing me to actively collaborate with researchers from many national and international institutions: U. Complutense de Madrid, Instituto Geológico y Minero de España, San Diego State University (US), Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire (France), Global Earthquake Model (Italy), Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (Italy), and University College London (UK). I am also an active member of the Fault2SHA working group of the European Seismological Comission, a pioneer group working to innovate in the incorporation of faults into seismic hazard in Europe. In this sense, I was part of the organizing committee of the 4th Fault2SHA workshop held in Barcelona in 2019. Moreover, I am also part of the convener team in two sessions of the upcoming INQUA 2023 Congress in Roma and the EGU 2023 General Assembly in Vienna. In the teaching field I have co-directed a master’s thesis and I have ∼20h of theorical-practical teaching experience in the master’s degree of Mineral Resources and Geological Hazards from the UB. In terms of outreach, I have given several talks and practical workshops on earthquakes to high school students at Col·legi Cor de Maria (Sant Celoni). Scientific research indicators (as of 21 January 2023): Total citations: 35(Google Scholar), 30 (Researchgate), 20 (Scopus), 17 (Clarivate) Number of Core JCR and ESCI indexed publications: 5 (4 JCR and 1 ESCI) h-index: 4 (Google Scholar and Researchgate), 3 (Scopus), 2 (Clarivate)
