Biography
Eva completed her M. Sc. degree in Geophysics in 2012 at LMU and TU Munich, Germany. Due to her broad interest in geophysics and geology and her fascination for volcanoes she graduated with a PhD from University College Dublin, Ireland in 2017 funded by the EU project FutureVolc. Following a 1 year Postdoc at Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies in Ireland, she joined the GeoForschungsZentrum (GFZ) in Potsdam in 2018 before being appointed Assistant Professor in September 2018 by the University of Potsdam. Eva is a volcano seismologist working on glacier covered volcanoes and related hazards with a special focus on long-lasting, ground vibrations called seismic tremor. Her research topics span volcano-ice interaction, characterization and location of various tremor sources, distinguishing different tremor sources, tremor generation models, geysers, helicopters, early-warning and monitoring of volcanic eruptions and subglacial floods. She uses seismic networks, cluster of seismometers (arrays) and rotational sensors.
