Abstract: The Scanno Lake, a small water reservoir in Scanno's area (Abruzzo, Italy) has been subject of interest by local and national media because of the spreading news about some 'strange phenomena' observed by usual visitors of this site and some divers who have observed anomalies in their compass when diving. Afterwards, two branches of the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia: the Unit 'Geophysical and Marine Technology' and the 'Laboratory of Environmental Geophysics', organized a geophysical survey to define the environmental characterization of the lake and to check the possible presence of anomalous phenomena. In this paper, we present the methodologies used and their preliminary results.
