Abstract: A new gravity investigation detected a complex geogravity structure called Tiberian Gravity Ridge (TGR) that has a important rule in order to understand the sinkhole genesis in Acque Albule Basin (AAB). Same type of outcropping rocks characterize the Meso-Cenozoic carbonaceous deposit and travertine along the TGR. Sinkhole occurrences show a good correlation with TGR deeper tectonic and structure geometry in the AAB. Genesis sinkhole is due a “deep piping sinkhole” (DPS) and “tectonic sinkhole” (TS) types but it is possible identify a great number of “cave collapse sinkhole” (CaCS) type. In the present time no “cover collapse sinkhole” (CoCS) type is observed yet.
