Biography
I am a PhD in Solid Earth Geophysics. I am interested in understanding the underlying mechanisms that control the entire spectrum of fault behavior. Especially, the hydromechanical processes that characterize fault and rock deformation. My research focuses on multi-monitoring the faults and intact rocks deformation in laboratory experiments. I used biaxial and triaxial rock deformation apparatus at different saturation and pore-pressure conditions, combined with microstructure and petrophysical characterization. The experimental setups are equipped with sensors such as piezoelectric (PZT) and displacement transducers (LVDT & DCDT), to understand the physics involved in the rock deformation processes. I then apply the results of my findings to natural cases such as subduction zones, induced seismicity, and radioactive waste disposal.
