Biography
Fedra Francocci is a Biotechnologist with a double PhD in Botanical Science and Plant Biotechnology. Her scientific interest focused on bioeconomy since her experience as post-doc in the frame of the ERC Project FUEL-PATH at la “Sapienza” University of Rome, while she was investigating biomass molecular traits associated to bioconversion. In the last few years she focused her activity to the study of bioeconomy development on contaminated areas, both on terrestrial and marine environment, by promoting innovative value chains through co-creation and collaborative approach at the local scale. Fedra is supporting the “BLUEMD Pilot: Plastic-free healthy Mediterranean Sea” in the contest of the BlueMed Initiative and also supporting the plastic hub implementation at the national level. At CNR she is responsible for the Interreg MED Project MISTRAL - aimed at unlocking the potential of innovation in the MED area - and Coordinator of the BioGoal project - funded by the Ministry of Ecological Transition (Bando SNSvS 2) to design regional development strategies based on sustainable development goals and bioeconomy.
