Abstract: The earthquakes source in the Island may be attributed to the regional tensile tectonics, accompanied with stick-slip process, as well as to the magma pressure of a shallow magma body, or to the both mechanisms. It has to rule out the active contribution of magma to the occurrence of earthquakes after the last eruption on 1302, which was followed by the slow sinking of the Island.
