| Abstract: | This brief note gives some information on the mineralogy of the Vesuvian area. Of the 230 mineral species present at the Somma-Vesuvio (whose basic classification criteria are given on the basis of their position), 62 are representative of the type locality of this volcano and 6 are still today exclusive for the locality. Mineral searching is currently forbidden in the whole area of the Vesuvius Natural Park. |
