Biography
Niki Evelpidou is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of the University of Athens, on the subject "Geomorphology and the use of Informatics and Geographic Information Systems". A distinguished Doctor both in the Faculty of Geology & Geoenvironment, University of Athens and the Department of Geoarchaeology of Franche Compte University (France), she has been actively involved in geomorphology, sea level changes, palaeogeography, study and modelling natural hazards, by emphasizing in the use of new technologies and innovation. Her educational activities include more than 210 publications in international and greek scientific journals and 17 books/notes, while she has given many lectures and seminars in Greece and abroad. The applied research of Dr. Dr. Niki Evelpidou has been recognized and supported both at a national (Research Committee of the University of Athens, General Secretariat for Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Local Authorities) and an international level with funding (Community Initiative Interreg, Leonardo DaVinci, FP7) and participation in the Actions G2, A27, 634, C22, ES0701, ES1104, ES0907 of COST European Science Foundation.
